The husband wanted to go for a run. I told him the night before, that I'd join him if I was up to it. And I'm glad I was, and that we did.
It was cold and I remember that the moment we hit the road, we started to run. There was no time to dwindle as it was cold.
We had wanted to hit the nearest In-and-Out burger joint to take a look - we made it about 30minutes into the run before realising it was too far. The cold air made the run seem easy, yet not. Our temples started to hurt from the cold. I barely perspired. My throat was dry and I needed to be careful or I'd start hacking from the dryness in my throat.

If we had driven from our hotel, it'd have taken us about 12 minutes |

Why not do a jump shot? |

Tangerine spotting in a home |
I have little experience running in cold weather and had brought along my leggings on a whim. I'm glad I did because it was nice, a different experience and am thankful to have given my legs a workout after all that cramped-ness on-board the long flight from SG to LAX.
We got back to the hotel to two princesses all dressed, and a little boy sitting on the toilet bowl. We were aghast. So, it turns out that in our absence, J had soiled himself with vomit - so sudden he took everyone by surprise; and had the runs. Poor boy!
Our plans discussed the night before was quickly thrown out the window. While the husband and I washed up as quickly as we could, Wai was helping to google options for the boy. To visit a doctor? To visit a pharmacy and get off-the-counter meds?
With everyone dressed and ready to go, we dropped the girls and Wai at Disneyland, and off we went to get this boy some treatment. He was listless and dehydrated in the car, yet refusing any form of food or liquid consumption. Broke my heart and I was sad.

In the treatment room |
They took his temperature, height & weight, asked us questions and then diagnosed him with antibiotics for his chesty cough. His runs were associated to food poisoning and we were told that it would abate in a couple of days. It didn't seem like a lot more we could do then, so we paid up (a lot of money) and left. The boy got a shot too.
He pretty much collapsed into his chair and went to rest after, so that left the husband and I with time to kill quietly. We headed for lunch.
|
We did make it to in-and-out burger, afterall. |
We also headed to the supermarket to get another round of groceries, primarily plain food - oats, bread - that the boy could eat, given his sensitive tummy condition. I also made a purchase - matching ones - for the girls.
During our doctor run, Wai was having a good time with the girls. I was so thankful that she was so game and able to take the girls to have fun, or it would have been such a bummer for K.

Meeting many characters - Belle, Maleficent, Thumbelina, Tinkerbell, Cinderella, Snow White, doing a teacup ride and being blessed with special fairy dust by the Fairy Godmother |

Spoilt silly by Wai |
J continued to nap, so the husband rested with him while I made my way to Disneyland to join the girls.

Made it in time to join the parade - hooray |

Not creepy at all |
I made up for lost time with K by taking pictures, doing silly stuff with them all

(Clockwise from top) Hanging out at the dog pound, being adventurous at the Power House (it jumped with electricity when you tugged at the door) and taking the baby roller-coaster ride |
|
We took the train ride around the whole of the park - something suitable to rest our legs while keeping us reasonably entertained. |
If you wonder, why is K's hand in such an awkward position in the pic above? Well, I did too. I asked her what she was doing and she whispered, "
I'm blocking the person's face" - now that made me LOL.

Tired, cranky girls in their matchy-matchy Frozen hats (comes with matching gloves) |
J and the husband managed to make it to Disneyland by the last parade of the day at 630pm, so after we caught the parade, Wai and her baby girl left to do their own thing, while our family continued to be at the theme park to allow for J to catch up on lost time. We visited Toon Town, something that I figured he will enjoy and while he was still not 100%, he was well enough to walk about, take the baby roller coaster ride and even got to meet Mickey in his home.
We wanted to catch the fireworks but it was extremely unfortunate that there were strong winds that night, too dangerous for the fireworks to be displayed so the park cancelled it. We left the park and planned for dinner. On the way out though, we spotted many characters and stayed to finish off the day by taking pictures and letting K, the more energetic of the two have the final bit of fun.

Having fun with Mickey - who was cheekily checking out what his girlfriend was up to - made me chuckle |

Our last family shot at Disneyland, with the famous mouse |
Dinner of choice was Ihop. We had pancakes and steak - J slept through it all.

Smiley pancake face |
The walk back was not as cold compared to the night before, and because I did not have my spot of coffee in the afternoon, I felt like a walking zombie at dinner. We met back at the hotel where Wai and E were pretty much settled in and playing about, then after the kids slept, we continued to pack and talk into the night. It was our last half-day tomorrow with Wai and I wanted to spend as much time as I could with her. It was also such a blessing that she came to meet us and could babysit K and having that much fun with her while we had to look after J who suddenly fell ill.
With prayers that J would recover soon, we went to sleep and rest our tired bones. Yet another exciting day (and it was only our second!)
