Bye bye Jeju Island, Hello Seoul again - Day 5

So this was the morning where we had half a day left in Jeju Island. I cannot emphasise how happy I was with our accommodation; excellent choice by the husband! The whole feel was so comfortable, it really cannot have screamed HOLIDAY! any better.
We didn't have concrete plans for the half-day; just the fact that we had to catch our flight back to Seoul. We also pre-booked our transport to the airport.

So that morning, we lazed about and awakened to this beautiful view.

Seriously, how lovely is this!

We then headed for a leisurely, and huge breakfast. Again, I cannot stop but gush about how charming our accomodation is. So quaint and cosy and they served the exact type of breakfast that suited the kids and I. It pretty much had the same offering (on a smaller scale) of an intercontinental breakfast, minus the cooked bits (fried noodles/egg station etc).

Food spread (that's a fellow traveller living in the place; I had to be minful in case he thought I was being a pervert and snapping him)
Happiness

Breakfast ended at 10am and they basically just keep the food and the common area continues to be a comfortable lobby for the guests. We decided to just take it easy and hang out.

Jake found some toy cars and was zooming away (very noisily) in the balcony.
I found an activity book and worked at it with Kate. It was so lovely.

After a while, it started getting warm and we headed back to the room. Time to pack and wash up. But before any of that, I had to take a pic of our room that we all enjoyed. Compared to the tiny room we had in Seoul, the room was extremely luxurious.

Found a pretty model to sit on the bed in the bedroom
And that's the lovely living room. To the left, you can see the dining table and there's even a kitchen.

It was at this point that I asked the husband "you want to just check our flight time for later?" He pulled out the sheet with our itinerary and.... "shit! our flight is at 1310 NOT 1430!"

We launched into action immediately. So basically instead of having another hour to pack and get ready, we had to go pronto. Our kind guide-cum-owner of the hotel even kindly offered to send us to the airport. I literally had a mild panic attack trying to stay calm and productive - it was so stressful!

Our parting shot in the lobby
Enroute a bumpy car to the airport

The good news, we made it! The better news, we had time to even walk about the airport and grab some bites for the kids. We all had a pretty late breakfast but the flight will only bring us to Seoul past 3pm and that would be pretty awful for the kids.

Oh yes, just a note, there are such kind souls around. Our guide, not only offered to send us to the airport, but also refused to take any fares of any sort. This is really true service with heart. He said he had to be at the airport anyway as he had a tour to conduct and so, claimed it was on the way. I really enjoyed his business and I wonder if there is a chance one day that the husband and I can enjoy life the way he is, while working.

A happy child is one who get so eat a whole donut by himself.
And here's pictorial evidence of Jake and his obsession with luggages. He loves watching them drop off and go around the conveyor belt.

Upon arrival at Gimpo Domestic Airport, we once again, caught a bus that'd bring us back to our hotel, Ibis Myeongdong.

Everyone caught some snooze on the bus (even me) except for Kate. This shot is hilarious! And I don't know why Kate chose to sit like that.

By this time, it was pretty late in the afternoon and we headed to Lotte Department Store which was just across the road from our hotel to fill our tummies. We had a pretty unpleasant experience of the lift episode, where in summary, our family took about 30 minutes to evacuate the building. It was horrible. I think the husband and I will remember this as our insider joke for a long, long time.

After being out of the building, we celebrated by going to roam the streets of Myeongdong. Shopping time!

A crazy selfie lift shot. Going up to the kids section in H&M.

Our previous day in Korea, here.
