Christmas tree no more

Last evening was a rarity where both the husband and I were home early enough. Things have been so hectic lately that it was such a treat for the family be be together on a weekday night. On a whim, we decided to head out to do something together.

Off to Ikea we went! (Jake fell asleep before we went out, unfortunately, so he just stayed home.)

For a few months now, Kate's learnt to wear slippers. The husband bought this for her on his last work trip and she's been happily thronging it around.

The task at hand was to get a Christmas tree. Unfortunately, the fake ones were all sold out. And to rear a live one in our little home, along with two young kids with itchy hands and fingers... well, let's just say it's not an option. (Eating plastic is way better than eating real fir, no?!)

But. It was still a great trip, nonetheless! Kate is such a joy to have around when she's not in her &%^@^$ moods. And though I was rather tired, I was very happy that we had this time to spend together.

This cracked me up!

Kate's "poor thing" face

Love this cheeky lil princess
Last on the agenda, $1 hotdog all around!
